Jose D. Ramos 88, East Moline, IL, passed away Monday, February 1, 2021, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline. Private funeral services will be live-streamed Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 10am by logging into http://www.facebook.com/vanhoefuneralhome. A public visitation will be held 5-8 pm Friday February 5, 2021 at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 4:30pm. All guests are required to wear face coverings and follow social distancing guidelines. Jose was born April 20, 1932, in Thelma, TX, the son of Pablo and Gertrudes (Delgado) Ramos. He married Paula Garza September 29, 1952, in Texas. She died January 19, 2021. He retired from John Deere Harvester Works, East Moline, in 1991. Jose was a musician and loved playing the guitar. He was one of the original founders of the Mexican Choir at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline. In his younger years he enjoyed playing baseball. His life revolved around his family and loved family gatherings. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Survivors include his children, Irma (Juan) Lopez, East Moline, Jose (Lupe) Ramos Jr., East Moline, Elda (Jesse) Trevino, Muscatine, IA and Araceli "Sally" (Claudio) Cabrales, East Moline; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and siblings, Frutoso Ramos, Luis Ramos, Adan Ramos, Amalia Villarreal, Sara Velasquez, Florentino Ramos, Trinidad Salinas, and Delfina Salinas.
