Jose Diaz Rodriguez, 80, of Silvis, IL, passed away Friday, October 13, 2023, at his home.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 19, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Moline, IL. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. A rosary will be recited 3:00 pm Wednesday, October 18, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, with visitation following from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Memorials may be made to the family to be designated later.

Jose was born June 9, 1943 in Lagos de Moreno, Jalisco, Mexico, a son of Luis Rodriguez and Maria Diaz Rodriguez. He married Imelda Murillo on March 8, 1995 in Davenport, Iowa.

Jose owned and operated Jose's Tire Service in Chicago and locally for over 40 years.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and a member of the Spanish Choir for 25 years. He enjoyed playing the accordion, and in earlier years, boxing. Some of his favorite times were those spent with family and friends making memories. He will be greatly missed by all.

Those left to mourn his absence are his wife, Imelda, of Silvis, IL; children, Adriana (Hector) Rodriguez-Almanza, Milan, IL, Jacqueline (Jeremy) Rodriguez-Brown, Chicago, IL, Jenni (Dylan) Rodriguez-Ruiz, Silvis,  Ignacio (Maria) Pizano, Martha Pizano, and Norma Pizano, all of Moline, IL; fifteen grandchildren, and one great grandchild on the way; siblings, Yolanda Rodriguez, Rosa Rodriguez, Blanca Rodriguez, Rocio Rodriguez, Luis Rodriguez, and Enrique Rodriguez, all of Mexico; numerous nieces, nephews and other family; and his beloved pet dog and side-kick, Chiquita.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Alfonso and Epitacio Rodriguez; and sister, Guadalupe Rodriguez.
