Graveside services for Joseph M. DeBord, 68, of East Moline, IL, will be 2:00 PM Wednesday at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. A Celebration of Life will be held at Len Brown's North Shore Inn, Moline, from 3:00-6:00PM. Joe died Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Trinity Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the family. Anyone wishing to attend the graveside service should be at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., by 1:30 PM. Joe was born August 15, 1944 in Marseilles, IL, the son of Harold and Velma Fick DeBord. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He married Diane Saelens May 19, 1973. He retired from John Deere Plow Planter, Moline, in 1996, after 36 years of service. He was an avid Chicago Cubs Fan and Bears Fan. He loved fishing and living on the Rock River. Survivors include his son, Michael (Regan) DeBord, Surry, VA; grandchildren, Alexander, Sara Rose, Dominic, and Riley DeBord; sister, Mary (Kendall) Johnson, Geneseo, IL; sister-in-law, Fran DeBord, Rock Island; cousins, nieces and nephews.
