Funeral services for Joseph L. Francois, 73, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00 AM Saturday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline, IL. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, IL. Visitation will be 4-9 PM Friday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., where a rosary will be recited at 8:00 PM. Mr. Francois died Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, IL. Memorials may be made to the family. Joe was born January 24, 1932, in Bettendorf, IA, the son of Leo J. and Hazel (Briere) Francois. He married Phyllis Smith, November 20, 1954 at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. He had worked for Remington Rand Davenport, IA, where he met his future wife, Phyllis. He later worked for Alcoa Aluminum Co., Riverdale, IA, as a machine operator, retiring in 1990 after 30 years of service. He was an avid Chicago Cubs Fan and enjoyed bowling. He loved his family, friends and his dog "Brittney". Survivors include: his wife of fifty years, Phyllis Francois of East Moline, IL; daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanna and Tracy Rushing of Moline, IL, Linda and Jim DeCock of Cincinnati, OH, Keri and Skip Cramond of Bettendorf, IA, Melissa and Tim Ott of Moline, IL; sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Jan Francois of Bloomington, IL, Raleigh Francois of Peoria, IL, Patrick and Sheri Francois of Port Byron, IL, Todd Francois of East Moline, IL; 17 grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Viola and Harry Vollstedt of Port Byron, IL; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Nancy Francois of Arlington Heights, IL, William Francois of Port Byron, IL.
