Memorial services for Joseph R. Goderis, 86, of East Moline, IL, will be 11:00AM Saturday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 AM Saturday prior to services at the funeral home. Mr. Goderis died Sunday, February 27, 2011 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, IL. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital. Joe was born March 14, 1924 in Moline, IL, the son of Louis and Irma Behydt Goderis. He married June Hutchings December 22, 1945 in London, England. He served in the US Army during WWII. He retired from John Deere Harvester, East Moline, in 1986 after nearly 40 years of service. He enjoyed rollerskating, growing flowers (roses), and watching television, especially John Wayne movies. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, June Goderis of East Moline; daughters , Janice (Steve) Burleson of Orion, IL, Judy Durham of Orange Grove, FL; sons, Raymond (Carla) Goderis of East Moline, Jim Goderis of Rock Island, IL, son-in-law, Kevin Blakeney of East Moline; grandchildren, Samuel (Cecilia) Walton Jr., Tammy (Gerald) Heinz, Joshua Goderis (Greg Cheikhameguyaz), Boone (Ruth) Allison, Tobin (Michelle) Allison, Heather Goderis (Roberta Hodge) , William (Lynn) Durham Jr, Kari (Richard) Jones, Jamie Goderis, Steve (Katie) Burleson II, Brandy Blakeney and Michael Blakeny; 19 great grandchildren; sister, Dorothy (Darrell) Parker of Denver, CO, Theresa (Ed) Sandoval of Moline, IL, sister-in-law, Mary Goderis of Port Byron.
