Funeral services for Joseph Aloise Kottmer, 83, of Moline, IL, will be 11 am Saturday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Mr. Kottmer passed away Friday, August 26, 2022, at River Crossing of Moline.

Joe was born September 23, 1938, in Bettendorf, IA, the son of Joseph and Juanita Kottmer. He married Margaret "Peggy" Brock September 24, 1969, in Rock Island, IL. She passed away July 28, 1990. He worked out of Laborers' Local 309, Rock Island, mostly working for Priester Construction. He loved playing picks with the pick league and helping others. He was a die hard Fighting Illini basketball fan. He had a life-long best friend Ralph Newberry in which they call each other Augie Doggie to the day!

Survivors include his son, Jody (Rhonda) Kottmer, Colona, IL; step-daughters, Lara (Roger) Miller, Milan, IL, and Dee Dee (Douglas) Reese, Jacksonville, IL; several grandchildren and great grandchildren: and his best friend, Ralph (Daisy) Newberry, Davenport, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
