Funeral services for Joseph "Ted" Lockhart, 86, of Sun City Center, FL, formerly of East Moline, IL, will be 2 PM Tuesday, at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be noon until service time at the funeral home on Tuesday. Mr. Lockhart died Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at South Bay Hospital, Sun City Center. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Ted was born October 26, 1922 in Iowa City, IA, the son of Joseph and Bertha (Maloney) Lockhart. He married Theo Beck July 14, 1962 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, East Moline. He served in US Army Engineers during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He had been a plumber working out of the Local 25, retiring in 1984. He had served as an East Moline 2nd Ward Alderman from 1964-1972 and South Moline Township Clerk from 1985-1989. He had been a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, East Moline, the East Moline Lions Club, East Moline American Legion Post 227, and the AMVETS Post 145. Survivors include his wife Theo, daughter and son in law, Andrea Lockhart Goss and James Goss Rock island, IL; daughter-in-law, Sue De Francesco; 4 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Marie (Appleby)Lockhart, and 3 children, Janice Boles, Christine Burkhamer, and John Lockhart.
