Joseph W. Ornelis, 21, Creston, IA, died in an automobile accident in Willard, OH on November 19, 2011. Funeral services are 10:00 AM Wednesday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline, IL. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation is 3:00-7:00 PM Tuesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 3PM. A memorial fund has been established. Joe was born April 3, 1990 in Lawrence, KS, the son of Richard and Lisa (Wilder) Ornelis. He was working for R.E. Lewis Refrigeration of Creston, IA and was working as a welder and laborer at a job site in Ohio at the time. Joe attended Moline High School and was a graduate of Creston High School 2008. Joe had a great work ethic and enjoyed the job sites he worked at in different States. He made friends at every stop and enjoyed staying connected with friends and family through Facebook. He also enjoyed fishing and working on cars. He is survived by his mother Lisa Ornelis, Moline, father and step-mother Richard and Tammy Ornelis, Creston, grandparents: Carolyn Wilder, East Moline, and Betty Ornelis, Bettendorf, nephew, Lawrence Logan Stone, stepbrothers; Patrick and William Haugland; and several aunts, uncles and cousins; and his girlfriend Taylor Moore.
