Joseph A. Stehle, 90, of Moline, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.  A private burial will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline.

Joseph was born on September 8, 1935, in Ottawa, IL, the son of Joseph and Mary (Bayuk) Stehle.  Joseph graduated from Alleman High School.  He earned a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of California Santa Barbara.  Jospeh worked in Los Angeles for a short time before coming back to the Quad Cities, where he began working for the State of Illinois in human resources and unemployment department.  Joseph was an avid reader and loved going on walks everywhere he could.  He was a devoted parishioner attending Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Moline, and very devoted to his family.  Joseph loved his Toyota Camry, which he owned for over 25 years.  He stated that it was "the best car he ever had" and had to fend off people who wanted to purchase it from him.

Joseph is survived by his son, Douglas Stehle; grandchildren, Lindsay E. (Sam) Weighner, Emma J. (Joseph) Lawinger, and Megan G. Stehle; great grandsons, Daniel, Jesse, and Graham Weighner; and sister, Mary (William) Vancura.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Dorothy Stehle and Eileen Grigals.

The family would like to give a special thank you to all of Joseph's neighbors who kept a watchful eye and gave great help throughout the years.
