Funeral services for Joseph "Joe" Zaragoza, 86, East Moline, are 10 AM Thursday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Entombment is in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline, where MAVA will conduct military honors. Visitation is 4-8PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Joe passed away April 18, 2010 at Parkview Terrace, East Moline, surrounded by his family. A memorial fund has been established. Joe was born on June 8, 1924 in Wathena, KS, the son of Maria and Genaro Zaragoza. He was united in marriage to Gloria Cedillo on April 21, 1950 in East Moline. He grew up in Wathena, KS and remained in Kansas for boot camp at Fort Leavenworth. He retired after 34 years with International Harvester Works, East Moline, retiring as a spot welder. He was a member of the UAW local 1304. He loved his family and all of his grandchildren. He enjoyed various hobbies throughout his life including professional wrestling and CB radio. He enjoyed traveling around the country whenever possible with his family. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor. Survivors include his wife Gloria, East Moline, children and spouses; Henry and Sue Zaragoza, Silvis, Thomas and Barbara Zaragoza, Rapids City, IL, Juan and Tresa Zaragoza, New London, IA and Judith Zaragoza, East Moline, grandchildren; T.J. Zaragoza, Jennifer (Kevin) Glackin, Paul Michael (Heather) Soliz, Stephen (Andrea) Soliz, Jessica Zaragoza, Jason Zaragoza, Christopher Zaragoza, Kasandra Zaragoza, Victoria Zaragoza and Carleen Zaragoza, great-grandchildren; Morgen, Lillian, Emilio, Hahnah, and Analicia, sisters; Juanita Saucedo, Mary Martinez and Eloise Sandoval and a brother Jesse Zaragoza, Joe was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Rubin, and Manuel, a sister Lucy Taylor and his son David.
