Joseph S. Zmuda, 87, East Moline, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice, Bettendorf, IA. Funeral services are 9AM Wednesday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery, where the East Moline American Legion Post 227 will conduct military honors. Visitation is 4-7 PM Tuesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline, where he had been a member for over 50 years.

Joe was born November 1, 1931, the son of Josef and Helen (Gruszeczka) Zmuda. He received his Bachelor's Degree from St. Ambrose Academy. Joe served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Murrel "Mo" Moller on October 1, 1959 in Rock Island. She died February 5, 2002. Joe was a sales representative for USG and retired as a Management Consultant for Gypsum Supply, Bettendorf. Joe was a committee member of Duck's Unlimited and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed family trips to the cabin in Bellevue, IA. Joe strongly supported the higher education and success of his grandchildren.

Survivors include his children; Steve Zmuda, Andalusia, Mark (Stacy) Zmuda, Coal Valley and Jeff (Jill) Zmuda, East Moline, grandchildren; Matthew (Maggie), Kayla, Caleb, Scott, Bethany, Jenna and Julia, great grandson, Carter, brother Walt Zmuda, Moline and sisters-in-law, Jeannine and Adeline.

In addtition to his wife, he was preceded in death by infant son Joseph Zmuda Jr. sister, Bernice, and brothers Ben and Ed.
