Josephine A. "Jo" Merrill, 61, of Moline, IL, died Friday, September 14, 2007 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, IL. As per Jo's wishes her body will be cremated. Private family services will be held in Maine in the spring. Jo Yeatts was born September 20, 1945 in Abingdon, VA, the daughter of Albert and Margaret (Sims) Yeatts. She married Thomas Matthews June 13, 1964 in East Moline, IL. He was killed six months later in a helicopter/jet accident. She is a graduate of United Township High School and the University of Maine. She had been a banker working with Bank of America in Bangor, ME . She enjoyed cooking and tending to her organic gardens. She loved her 4 cats. Survivors include: her mother, Margaret Sims of Hampton, IL, sisters and brothers-in-law, Phyllis and Mike Bert of Hampton, IL, Betty and Kevin Casey of Peoria, IL, Margaret and Jim Brown of Russell Springs, KY; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Janet Yeatts of Carbon Cliff, IL; 10 nieces and nephews.
