Joyce V. Bartrom, 88, of East Moline, IL, passed away Monday June 15, 2026 at Silvis Center, Silvis, IL.

A memorial service will be held 12:00 pm (noon) on Thursday, June 25th, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, IL, with interment following at National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to Bethel Wesley United Methodist Church, Moline, IL.

Joyce was born January 2, 1938, in Moline, IL, to Samuel E. and Berneice M. (Smith) Stogsdill. She married Donald R. Bartrom on June 12, 1965, in Moline. He preceded her in death on January 10, 2019.

Joyce had worked at the Rock Island County Courthouse as a bookkeeper, and in earlier years at Walgreen’s.

She was a long-time member of Bethel Wesley United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed being actively involved for many years in the Rebekah Circle and other church ministries and activities. Joyce also enjoyed participating in card club, home extension, and the former Walgreen girls. Her interests included, baking, playing cards, crafts, shopping, lunch with friends and traveling.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Tonya Bartrom-Fried and Dr. Richard Fried, Bettendorf, Iowa; sister-in-law, Carol Stogsdill; nieces, Michelle “Shelley” Liebtke and Darcy Dye; nephew, Jerry Stogsdill, Jr., along with additional nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family.

Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Donald; parents, Samuel and Berneice; and brothers, Jerry Stogsdill, Jack Stogsdill and Robert Stogsdill.
