Joyce M. Haskins, 87, of East Moline, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at Silver Cross Nursing Center, Rock Island.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 am on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday at Van Hoe Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 3:00 pm. Entombment will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made in care of St. Anne Catholic Church or Heartland Hospice.

Joyce was born on November 26, 1936, in East Moline, IL, a daughter of Louis and Katherine (Schulte) Hunt. She married Howard Eugene Haskins on April 21, 1956, in East Moline and he preceded her in death on June 19, 2019. Joyce worked as a switchboard operator for Illini Hospital in Silvis for many years.

Joyce's hobbies include Belgium lace making, quilting, knitting, sewing and antiquing. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels for many years. Joyce also enjoyed helping others through various ministries, such as sending homemade baby quilts to Haiti and visiting orphanages in Russia.

Those left to cherish Joyce's memory include her children, Katherine (Wayne) Ashenhurst, Lakeland, FL, Michael (Terrie) Haskins, Waunakee, WI, Mark Haskins, East Moline, Daniel (Kim) Haskins, East Moline, John Haskins, East Moline and Jane (Chris) Weber, Antioch, IL; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and sister, Doloris Snauwaert.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and siblings, Earl Hunt, Kenny Hunt and Elaine Bert.
