Joyce Marie VanMeighem, 84, of Racine, WI, formerly of Moline, IL, passed away Saturday October 17, 2026, in Racine.

A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 6th, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Entombment will be at St. Mary Cemetery, East Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Joyce was born March 1, 1942, in Moline, IL, to Achiel and Stacy (Yanuskus) LaPeere. She married Gerald “Jerry” VanMeighem on November 18, 1961, at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline.

Joyce was a beautician for many years, and will be fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She was a member of St. Lucy Catholic Church, Racine. Joyce enjoyed gardening and cooking for family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all.

Surviving are her husband, Jerry; children, Jodie (Rick) Clopton and Jeff (Lori) VanMeighem; grandchildren, Ricky (Sarah) Clopton, Michael (Emma) Clopton, Taylor VanMeighem, Alexa (Marque) Kriebel; great grandchildren, Graham Clopton, Grace Clopton, Kate Clopton, and Alex Clopton; sister, Pat Phillips; and brother, David (Betsy) Dhuyvetter.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Achiel and Stacy.
