Funeral services for Juan "John" R. Terronez, 92, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:30AM Friday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. Visitation will be 4:00-7:30 PM Thursday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 3:30PM. Mr. Terronez died Sunday, October 7, 2012 at his home. Memorials may be made to St. Anne Catholic Church or the American Heart Association. John was born July 12, 1920, in Leon, GTO, Mexico, the son of Felipe and Albina Rivera Terronez. He married Emma Vasquez May 10, 1952 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Davenport, IA. She died June 29, 2004. He had worked for the former Rock Island Lines, Silvis, IL, and retired from John Deere Harvester, East Moline, in 1982, after 38 years of service. He had made many trips to Mexico over the years. He had been a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline and an active member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. He enjoyed walking, bicycling, and gardening. He loved his family, especially the time he spent with his grandchildren. Survivors include his daughters, Marina (Richard) Schricker, East Moline and Marcella (Joseph) Fleming, East Moline; sons, Paul (Paula) Terronez, North Riverside, IL and Alfonso (Sandra) Terronez, Des Plaines, IL; 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Alice Gamino, Silvis, Lupe Terronez, Chicago, IL, and Cecilia (Don) Raischel, Moline; brother, Albert (Victoria) Terronez, East Moline; sisters-in-law, Rose Terronez, Moline and Florence Terronez, Silvis.
