Juan Roberto Riojas, 77, East Moline, passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Genesis Medical Center-East, Davenport. Funeral services are 11 AM Wednesday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7PM Tuesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 6:30.

Juan Roberto was born November 2, 1940 in Laredo, TX. He married Beatriz Alaniz on September 13, 1959 in Laredo. He worked for John Deere Harvester Works, East Moline, where he retired as an assembler in the mid 1990's after 34 years of service. He enjoyed bowling, traveling, music and dancing. He was a Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. He always had a smile on his face and would light up a room with a quick joke. He and Beatriz were avid tejano music fans. They regularly attended Tejano Music Award Shows in San Antonio and Las Vegas.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Beatriz; children, Laura Riojas (Kevin Jones), Carbon Cliff and Javier (Lydia) Riojas, Silvis, grandchildren; Julio Riojas, Elias Riojas, Christopher Riojas, Brittany Willey and Christian Turner; seven great grandchildren, siblings; Ignacio (Luisa) Alcorta Jr., Ft. Worth, TX, Guillermina (Luis) Romero, Laredo and Arturo (Sara) Alcorta, Laredo; and numerous nieces and nephews who dearly loved him.

He was preceded in death by his mother and step father Inez and Ignacio Alcorta; father, Eulogio Riojas; siblings, Ramona Lucio and Hector Alcorta; and 2 infant daughters.
