Funeral services for Juanita Amelia Lopez, formerly of East Moline, IL, will be 10 AM Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be 4-6 PM Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 3 PM. Mrs Lopez passed away Thursday, July 18, 2024, at her home at New Perspective, Silvis, IL.

Juanita was born in a boxcar, March 3, 1933, in Rock Island, IL, the daughter of John and Maria Ramirez Bustos. She married Adolph Lopez September 7, 1963, in St. Anne Catholic Church. He passed away August 29, 2008. Juanita retired from Bendix Lidden in 1997. She was a charter member of the LULAC Council 10 of Davenport, IA, where she had been very active. She was a supporter of St. Anthony's Davenport, helping Fr. Rudy at the church. She loved her coffee and donuts.

Survivors include her siblings, Theresa Calderon, East Moline, John (Josephine) Bustos, East Moline, and Manuel (Kathy) Bustos, East Moline; brothers-in-law, Joe DeFauw, Moline, IL, and Salvador Lopez, Davenport; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Connie Coward, Lupe Irizarry, and Maria DeFauw; brother-in-law, Santa Calderon; niece, Deanna Bustos; and nephew, Christopher Calderon.

Memorials may be made to St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline or St. Anthony's Church, Davenport.
