Heaven was blessed with an Irish Angel on May 26, 2017. Judy Settles passed away at Genesis-Illini in Silvis. Funeral services are 1PM Wednesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is from 11 AM until service time. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or to QC Paws. Judy was born on May 13, 1944 in Melrose, Iowa the daughter of Frank and Catherine Ward. The family moved to East Moline when Judy was 6 months old. She graduated from United Township High School Class of 1962. She worked at the East Moline State Hospital and retired from East Moline Correctional Center in 1999. Judy loved to share witty stories of her family and Melrose, weekly lunches with her friends, collecting angels and everything Irish, wintering enjoyed in Florida with her husband and sister. Nothing was more dear to Judy's heart than cheering Amanda on at Softball games and Jared at Football. She was their biggest and proudest cheerleader in the stands. Her survivors include her husband Wayne of 52 years, daughter, Chris (Chuck) Lambrecht, East Moline, siblings Helen Bertram and William Ward of East Moline and Leo Ward of Des Moines and most importantly her grandchildren, Amanda and Jared Lambrecht, the light in her Irish Eyes. Preceeded in death by her parents, siblings Mary Virnig, Carolyn Peters, Don Ward, John Ward and Marty Ward. Toodles to All...
