Julia G. "Trudy" De La Rosa, 95, of East Moline, passed away Wednesday January 8th, 2025, at Illini Restorative Care Center, Silvis, IL.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 15th at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline, IL. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 3:00 p.m. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline.
Trudy Praught was one of 11 children born to Sanctinus and Minnie Peters Praught on April 12th, 1929 on the family farm in Grand River, Prince Edward Island, Canada. She was baptized at her beloved St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Grand River.
Trudy married Anthony "Tony" De La Rosa August 18, 1951, on Barksdale Air Force Base, Shreveport, LA. She worked for the Moline School System for 10 years, as a cafeteria worker, retiring in 1980.
Survivors include her husband, Tony De La Rosa, East Moline; children, Rick (Sherry)
De La Rosa, Holland, MI, Mick (Donna) De La Rosa, East Moline, Leann Whiteside (Tim Ryherd), Bettendorf, IA, and Christine (Robert) Anderson, Moline; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and Sister-in-law Marie Praught. She was preceded in death by her parents, 10 siblings and son-in-law, Russell Whiteside.
