Obituary

Juliah Marie Heatherly, 96, East Moline, passed away, November 3, 2005 at Forest Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation, East Moline. She was born March 31, 1909 in Goshen, IN to Paul and Minnie Ford Coppock. The family moved to Ava, MO in 1921, where she met and married Jeff Heatherly on September 30, 1924. To this union, five children were born. She is survived by four children; one son William "Jeff" Heatherly of Silvis, IL; three daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and James Norris of Guin, AL; Doris and Dale Buchanan of Odessa, FL; Charlotte and Lloyd Brenneise of Lutz, FL. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren, one sister Hazel Todd of Georgetown, CA and one brother Howard Rodman of Strafford, MO and a host of nieces and nephews. In 1953 they moved to the Quad-Cities in Illinois, where Marie worked in several laundries as a presser and a seamstress. She retired from D & J's Laundry in 1979. She was a member of the Moline Seventh-Day Adventist Church. For many years she held several different offices in the church until her health failed and she was unable to attend. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Heatherly, one daughter and son-in-law Nella and Kenneth Brooke; one daughter-in-law Barbara Vaughn Heatherly, three Grandsons Douglas Buchanan, Kent Brooke, and James Wayne Norris, her parents and five siblings. The funeral will be on Monday, November 7, 2005 at 11AM at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Visitation will be 2-5 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Estate in Moline following services.
