Juliette "Judy" M. Lambert, 95, of East Moline, IL, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Silvis Center, Silvis, IL.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 24, 2026, at Divine Mercy Parish at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis, IL. Interment will be at St. Mary Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m.- 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 24th, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Memorials may be made to Animal Aid Humane Society, Moline or to Humility Homes and Services, Davenport.
Judy was born December 22, 1930, in East Moline, Illinois, to Oscar and Alida M. (DeCroock) Lambert. She attended St. Mary’s Grade School in East Moline and graduated from U.T.H.S. in 1948. She has since worked on planning many class reunions.
Judy worked as a medical secretary in the office of Dr. George A. Cook for 36 years. During this time, she lived at home, caring for her ageing parents until their passing. After Dr. Cook’s retirement, Judy worked in the business office at Illini Hospital for an additional 20 years.
During her younger years, Judy loved to dance, bowl and golf, where she formed many lasting friendships. She belonged to card clubs for most of her life. Judy sang in St. Mary’s choir until their closure, then sang in Our Lady of Guadalupe choir and funeral choir.
Judy was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs, Bulls and Iowa Hawkeye Women’s Basketball.
Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Richard (Sally) VanDeVoorde, East Moline, Debbie (Mark) Wiedenhoeft, Geneseo, Jim (Lisa) VanDeVoorde, Taylor Ridge, Carolyn (Richard) Longueville, Silvis, and David (Sandy) VanDeVoorde, Geneseo; great nieces and great nephews, Brian VanDeVoorde, Craig VanDeVoorde (Carrie Kolodji), Krista (Brett) Ford, Kara (Jacob) Franzmann, Matthew VanDeVoorde, Vanessa (Taylor) Morris, Jason VanDeVoorde, Josh VanDeVoorde, Taylor VanDeVoorde, Cory Legate, and their families; dear friend, whom she considered like a niece, Elizabeth (Michael) Dyer and their family; and close friends, Corinne Cook, Kathy Cook, and the Leeman and Caleo families.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Alida; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Rachel and Rex Barnes and Mary and Loren VanDeVoorde.
Judy’s family wishes to express their thanks and gratitude to Heartland Hospice, Silvis Care Center, and Crosstown Square Senior Living for their excellent and compassionate care.
