Graveside services for June L. Barnes, 79, of Silvis, IL, will be 9:00AM Monday at the National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Anyone wishing to attend must be at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, Ltd., East Moline by 8:30 AM. Visitation will be 1:00-4:00PM Sunday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Mrs. Barnes died Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at Illini Restorative Care Center, Silvis, IL. Memorials may be made to the family. June Brewer was born June 10, 1931 in Centerville, IA, one of ten children of Harry and Bessie Smith Brewer. She married A.C. Barnes October 1, 1948 in Davenport, IA. She retired from the former F.W. Means Co., East Moline in 1980. June enjoyed bowling and listening to bluegrass music. She and her husband had traveled to nearly every state in the United States attending bluegrass music festivals. She had been a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Survivors include her husband A.C. Barnes of Silvis; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Jan Barnes of Port Byron, IL, Danny and Sharon "Shari" Barnes of East Moline, Dennis Barnes of East Moline; grandchildren, Mickey, Brian, Shane, Matt, Sam, Jake, Ashley, Cody, Greg, Brandon, and Eric; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Glenys Kilgard of Milan, IL; brother, Ted Brewer of Benbrook, TX.
