Juvencio F. Cantu, 86, of East Moline, IL, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at his home. Visitation will be 3-6 pm Thursday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 2:30 pm. Private funeral services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis, IL. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.

Juvencio was born January 25, 1934, at Rancho Juan Perez in General Teran, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. He married Margarita Correa April 27, 1957, in Edinburg, TX. She died October 15, 2003. He worked at Frank Foundries for 6 years and then worked at John Deere Harvester Works from 1967-1995.

Mr. Cantu was very conscious of visiting family in any of his travels. He was a very active man who didn't like to sit still. A can of paint was never wasted hence his projects were always colorful. A very hard working successful man that always showed his children and grandchildren to be hard workers.

Survivors include his children, Marta (Bill) Staranowicz, Pleasant Prairie, WI, Jaime (Frances) Cantu, Berta Velasquez, Noe (Estela) Cantu, Norma Cantu, and Flora Cantu, all of East Moline; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; siblings, Jose A. (Yolanda) Cantu, East Moline and Francisca (Arnulfo) Garcia, Kingsburg, CA; and brother-in-law, Abelardo DeLeon, Kingsburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, son, Pedro Cantu; sisters, Dora (Juan) Arjona and Guadalupe DeLeon.

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or for masses.
