Karen Linnenkamp, 68, Silvis, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Heartland Health Care, Moline. Funeral services are 2:30 PM Saturday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Visitation is 1 hour prior to services. Private family committal will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Harper, IA, at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family.
Karen Holden was born on February 9, 1951 in Washington D.C., the daughter of Henry and Vivian (Griffith) Holden. She was a secretary for several Congressional members, and was a court recorder in D.C. She married Richard Eastep and together they had a daughter Erica. Karen married LaVerne Linnenkamp on December 20, 1985 and together they had a daughter Lisa. Their blended family then totaled 14 children. Karen's faith in God was important to her and she found her place with an online ministry. Locally she helped form a Bell Choir. She worked as an administrative assistant at Ridgewood Tower, East Moline. Karen also enjoyed flower gardening.
Survivors include her husband LaVerne; daughter, Erica Brooks, Crystal City, MN and her children Andrew and Arianna, daughter Lisa (Megan) Irey, Des Moines, IA, Bonus children; Dominic, John (Kelly), Delores, Clare (Donald) Dobbins, Damien (Rose), Joseph (Rita), Carole (Eddie) Feldkamp, Theodore (Tonya), Gerianne (Walter) Fraddosio, Mary (Chris) Knotts, Nicholas (Jennifer) and Chris, 25 additional grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren on the way, and her sister, Nancy (John) Freund, Baltimore, MD.
