Karen I. Vershaw, 73, Hampton, passed away surrounded by her family, on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at her home. Funeral services are 10 AM Wednesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Karen was born on September 10, 1942 in Omaha, NE, the daughter of Charles and Bertha (German) Workman. She married Harry L. Vershaw in 1962 in East Moline. Harry passed away in 1990. Karen enjoyed camping, fishing, sewing and especially being with family. Survivors include her children; Timothy (Wendy) Vershaw, Bellevue, NE, Harry "Chuck" (Tammy) Vershaw, Bricelyn, MN, Richard (Theresa) Vershaw, Hampton, Connie (Mark) Allison, Woodhull, IL and Kathy (Jochem) Menzenbach, Bonn, Germany, 17 grandchildren, 17 Great grandchildren, siblings, Marilyn (Robert) Meurrens, Omaha, NE, Judy (Joseph) Kisicki, Ashland, NE and Cheryl Buresh, Atlantic, IA, and a sister-in-law Velma Workman. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Ronald Workman.
