Funeral services for Karl Schlapfer, 88, Silvis, are 11 AM Tuesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis. Burial is in Mt. Calvery Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation is from 9AM until service time at the church. Memorials may be made for masses. Karl died Saturday, January 12, 2008 at his home. He was born August 30, 1919 in Koszeg, Hungary, the son of Frank and Anna Wagenhofer Schlapfer. Karl was a master cabinetmaker in the old country. He married Lolita Wilson on June 26, 1982 in Carlinville, IL. He was the maintenance man at St. Joseph's Home in Springfield and owned the Corner Tavern in Morrisonville, IL, until he retired. He is survived by his wife Lolita, and extended family abroad.
