Funeral services for Katherine Moraetes, 87, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00AM Friday at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, East Moline. Burial will be in Moline Memorial Park Cemetery, Moline, IL. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 pm Thursday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a Trisagion (Prayer) service will be held at 7:00 pm. Mrs Moraetes died Tuesday August 11, 2015, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA. Katherine Kotrogiannis was born September 15, 1927, in Setta, Greece, the daughter of George and Maria Mageras Kotrogiannis. She married Spiro Moraetes November 1, 1942, in Setta. He died October 30, 2006. She had worked as a seamstress for Seaford Clothing, Rock Island, IL, for 16 years. She had been and active member of Assumption Greek Orthodox Church. She loved her family deeply. Survivors include her daughter, Angie Dokolas, East Moline; son, George (Joann) Moraetes, Oswego, IL; grandchildren, Panayioti, Spiro, Dimitra, Katherine, Dimitri, and Alexander; great grandchildren, Makenzie, Angeliki, Dimitri, Olive, and Aristotle; sister; Paraskevi Stamatoukos, East Moline; brothers Terry (Maria) Kotrogiannis, East Moline, and Bill (Dimitra)Kotrogiannis, Dunedin, FL.
