Kathy Jean Rice, 44, East Moline, died Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at her home after a long battle with cancer. Visitation is 2-6 PM Friday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, services will follow visitation. In lieu of flowers, an educational fund for Kathy's daughter Courtney has been established. Private committal will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens. Kathy Nelson was born March 4, 1962 in Moline, the daughter of John and Jean (Bull) Nelson. She married Tony Kaskadden in 1979 and together they had a son Kevin Anthony Kaskadden. She later married LeRoy Rice, July 9, 1988 in Des Moines together they had a daughter Courtney. Over the years, Kathy had worked several jobs but her favorite job was being a homemaker, wife and mother to her family. She enjoyed NASCAR Racing and collecting Isabel Blooms. Survivors include her husband LeRoy, daughter Courtney Leigh Rice, at home, son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Lea Kaskadden, Moline, granddaughter Shelby Ann Kaskadden, parents John and Carol Jean Nelson, sister and brother-in-law Stacey and Troy Larson, niece McKae Larson, a nephew Brock Larson, all of Moline and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
