Funeral services for Kaye Van De Voorde, 85, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00AM Monday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis, IL. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00-5:00PM Sunday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 1:30PM. Mrs. Van De Voorde died Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Illini Restorative Care Center, Silvis, IL. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church or to the Carolyn Getz Circle of King's Daughters. Kaye Galvin was born October 21, 1927 in Moline, IL, the daughter of Frank and Henrietta Mohr Galvin. She married Charles "Chuck" Van De Voorde July 17, 1948 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Moline. He died September 22, 1993. She graduated from the Villa De Chantel and attended the University of Illinois. She and her husband owned and operated Van De Voorde Jewelers, East Moline for 33 years. Kaye had been an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline until its closing. She had also been active and held offices with the Carolyn Getz Circle of King's Daughters, Moline. Kaye had been a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family and friends always came first. Survivors include her daughter, Ann (Kevin) Wallace, East Moline; son, Jay (Cathy) Van De Voorde, Dublin, GA; grandchildren, Marc (Wendy) Van De Voorde, Greg (Carolina) Van De Voorde, Brad Wallace, Brent Wallace, and EmilyWallace; great grandchildren, Bailey and Payton Wallace, and Sofia Van De Voorde; brother, Frank (Carol) Galvin, Moline; sister-in-law, Joan Galvin, Moline; and her dear friend, Gerry Vander Beke, East Moline.
