Starts at 11:00 am (Central time)
Keaton, R.P. Herman, 33, of East Moline, IL, went to be in his heavenly home on May 10, 2026 at OSF Hospital, Peoria, IL.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Visitation will be 2-7 PM Friday, May 22, 2026, at the Van Hoe Funeral Home. Private committal services will be held at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the family in care of Kara Tristan.
Keaton was born March 24, 1993, in Silvis, IL, the son of Kenny and Kara Daggett Herman. He was a graduate of United Township High School. His “full-time job” was taking care of his grandparents, Robert and Betty Daggett.
Keaton had a deep passion for helping others and was actively involved in suicide prevention efforts through Foster’s Voice and The Gray Matters Collective. Not a day went by that he didn’t check in on friends, family, and even acquaintances to make sure they were doing okay. His compassion, kindness, and unwavering support touched countless lives. In honor of Keaton’s memory and the causes that meant so much to him, the family encourages those unable to attend the services to consider making a donation to either organization. https://www.fostersvoice.org/impact https://thegraymatterscollective.com/get-involved
Keaton will be remembered for the joy he found in the simple things and the passion he brought to everything he loved. A devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, often bragging to friends about how much better they were than their team. He also proudly cheered for the Boston Celtics and Minnesota Vikings. He was an avid sports cards collector that reflected his true love for sports. He enjoyed going on walks around the neighborhood, taking in the world around him, while listening to music. More than anything, Keaton loved life itself, and that love showed in the way he lived, the memories he created, and the lasting impact he leaves on all who knew him.
To all of Keaton’s “besties,” know how deeply special you were to him. Each of you held a meaningful place in his heart, bringing him happiness, laughter, friendship, and a sense of belonging that he truly cherished. When you miss Keaton, let that feeling be a gentle sign from him to reach out to a friend, check on someone you love, or do something kind for a stranger. That is the kind of love Keaton gave so freely, and it is the kind of love he would want carried forward in his memory.
Survivors include his mother, Kara (Louis) Tristan, Colona, IL, father Kenny Herman, FL, uncle, Brian (Sarah) Daggett, Silvis; cousins, Katie (Ian) Danley, and Alie Daggett; second cousins, Sydney and Benjamin Danley; many many friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents.
At the request of the family, please wear casual attire to the visitation and funeral, and if possible celebrate Keaton’s favorite baseball team the St. Louis Cardinals by wearing red or any Cardinal clothing.
