Funeral services for Kenneth Lang, 82, Silvis, are 11 AM Wednesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery, where the East Moline American Legion Post 227 will conduct military honors. Visitation is 1 hour prior to services. Mr. Lang, died Saturday, July 16, 2005 at Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley. Memorials may be made to Oak Glen Home. Kenneth was born April 28, 1923 in Moline, the son of Per Frederick and Alfield E. Lang. He served in the US Army during WWII. He married Eva Jennings, July 2, 1958 in Silvis. Ken had worked as a draftsman for John Deere and later in Office Supply Sales, did snow plowing and most recently drove school bus for the East Moline School District. Mr. Lang was past commander of the Silvis VFW post 1933, was a member of the military order of Cooties and the American Legion. In earlier days he was a member of the East Moline Rural Fire Department. He also enjoyed camping. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Eva, daughter Kathy Graham, Moline, step son James Taylor, Silvis, five grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, sisters Barbara Gustafson, Naperville, IL, Muriel Lovestrand, Maine, and Nancy Whittington, TN and a brother Don Lang, CA. His parents and step-son Jerry Taylor preceded him in death.
