Funeral services for Kenyon "Ken" F. Pfau, 59, of Hampton, IL, will be 10:00 am Thursday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Burial will be in Hampton Cemetery, Hampton, IL. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Pfau died Friday, February 19, 2016, at University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics, Iowa City, after a 3 month battle with infection due to complication from gall bladder surgery. Ken was born June 13, 1956, in Peoria, IL, the son of Donald and Betty Finley Pfau. He married Brenda Wheeler June 16, 1979, in Hampton, IL. He had worked at John Deere Davenport Works and then owned and operated K&D Woodworking, Hampton, with his father and wife. He was a master cabinet maker and woodworking was his passion. He also enjoyed cooking, riding his Harley, building old cars with friends, once owning a 57 Chevy. Ken had a big heart, who put everyone's needs before his own, always there to lend a hand. He never met a stranger - a friend to all. Survivors include his wife 36 years, Brenda Pfau, Hampton; parents, Donald and Betty Pfau, Hampton; sister, Jennifer (Sean) McGivern, Hampton; nephew, Drew (Natalie) Wayne, Eldridge, IA; great nephews, Kyler and Karter Wayne; brothers-in-law, Speed (Bonnie) Wheeler, Geneseo, and Bruce (Sara) Wheeler, Mineral, IL; and his special dog, "Larky", who went with him everywhere.
