?Visitation service for Kevin Michael Swanson will be from 1:00 until 4:00PM Saturday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Private committal will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. Mr. Swanson died on May 24, 2011, at his home in Silvis,IL Kevin Swanson was born April 17, 1959, in Rock Island, the son of Donald and Mary (Fleming) Swanson. Kevin married Cindy Cruz March 24, 1986, in Rock Island, IL. He served in the Army and had worked for Roadway, Riverstone and Anchor Lumber. He was a wonderful and beloved father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Cindy, children and grandchildren, Michael Joseph(Donna) Yarbrough and children, Joey and Ava of Papillion, NE; Michael Joseph (Katie) Cruz and son, Seth Alan of Clarksville, TN; daughter, Kimberly Ann (Andrew) Howard daughter Izzabell Clair of Ajo, AZ; daughter Amanda Elizabeth (Andy Cowan) Swanson of East Moline; and daughter Abygale Lynd Swanson, still at home, and his mother Mary Swanson, Silvis. Kevin had nine siblings and enjoyed spending time with his brothers Thomas and Todd tinkering on trucks and watching football. Kevin was like a son to his Mother and Father-in-law, Beatrice and Lupe Cruz of Silvis. He had five brothers and sisters-in-law by marriage. He loved and treated his sister-in-law Cheryl Cruz-Priebe of Silvis like a sister. He had numerous nieces and nephews. But was especially proud of and enjoyed watching his nephew Sajen Cruz play football for Alleman High School. They spent time watching football, playing wii and just hanging out. Kevin was a Bears and White Sox fan, and enjoyed 'Surfing the Internet' and spending time with his family and his two dogs. He attended Christ the King Catholic Church with his family.
