Funeral services for Kilmer R. Anderson, 78, of East Moline, IL, will be noon Wednesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Anderson died Friday, August 12, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family on his 57th wedding anniversary. Memorials may be made to Trinity Pathway Hospice or St Jude Children's Hospital. Kilmer was born April 1, 1933 in Mexico, MO, the son of William and Dorothy Farrier Anderson. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Billie Franklin, August 12, 1954 in Little Rock, AR. He worked for American Air Filter, retiring in 1985 after 33 years of service. He had also worked for the Daily Dispatch. He enjoyed his daily trip to the Donut Delite to meet his friends and have coffee. He loved sitting outside feeding the squirrels. But the most important thing was spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Billie Anderson of East Moline; daughters, Brenda (Gary) Kaiser of Geneseo, IL, Beth (Mark) McVey of Oviedo, FL; son, Michael Anderson of Granger, TX; grandchildren, Stephanie McVey, Kayla Martin, Brooke McVey, Hayli Ballentine, Alyssa Novotny, and Matthew McVey; great-grandchildren, Britney McVey, Garrett Starr, Aven Ballentine, and waiting for a new great-grandchild; sister, Karen (David) Waite of Davenport, brothers, William (Pearl) Anderson of Troy, MO, John (Glenda) Hankins of Rock Island, Glenn Ellis of MO. He is preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Nicole McVey, a sister, and 3 brothers. The family would like to thank Trinity Pathway Hospice for their compassionate and excellent care.
