Memorial visitation for Kris O. Reijonen, 64, of Moline, IL, will be from 4:00-7:00PM Monday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL, at 7:00 PM there will be a short service and sharing of memories. Private committal services will be held at National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Mr. Reijonen died Wednesday August 12, 2009 at his home. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the QC Animal Welfare Center, Milan, IL. Kris was born December 29, 1944 in Vancouver, WA, the son of Theodore and Billie Jean (Coughlin) Reijonen. He married Sharon Ricks. He later married Christy A. Farischon November 22, 1971 in Nashville, TN. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He retired from Monaís Big and Tall, where he had worked for over 20 years. After retirement he helped at Skiles Driving School, East Moline. He was a good husband and adored his children and grandchildren. He was proud that he had a policeman and a paramedic for sons. Kris loved competition and had a wicked sense of humor, but not at anyoneís expense. He had been an excellent énurse maid and caretakeré® to his wife when she had been sick. He had been the love of her life. He will be missed. Survivors include: his wife and best friend, Christy Reijonen of Moline; sons and daughter-in-law, Geoff Reijonen of Washougal, WA, Matt and Sarah Ricks of Walla Walla, WA; grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Logan Reijonen.
