Graveside services for LaDonna Varnum, 81, of Colona, IL, will be 3pm Saturday, January 14, 2023, at the Elkville Cemetery, Elkville, IL. Visitation will be 3-6 Thursday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, IL. LaDonna Varnum passed away Saturday January 7, 2023, at Genesis Silvis.

She was born February 9, 1941, in Harrisburg, IL, the daughter of Charles Joseph and Ida Mae (George) Crispin. She married Harry Lee Gusentine and later married Archie M. Varnum. LaDonna was an astute business woman, owning several businesses over the years. She was outgoing and loved the outdoors, summers in particular. She was meticulous and immaculate with whatever she wanted to accomplish. She took care of her daughter Sandy on and off for nearly 49 years.

Survivors include her daughters, Kay Lynn (Brad) Donaldson, Beecher City, IL, and Candy Sue Gusentine, Colona; grandchildren, Courtney Lynn (Adam) Hendershot and Shelby Nicole Cooper; 6 great grandchildren; Jayson, Rebecca, and Jaycob Hendershot, Camo, Canon, and Hunter Cooper.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 husbands; her partner for many years Al Hernandez; her daughter, LaSandra Caryl Goodwin; son, Tracey Lee Varnum; and brother, Charles Glen Crispin.
