Funeral services for Larry L. Stombaugh, 73, of Silvis, IL, will be 10:00 AM Monday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, IL, where the East Moline American Legion Post 227 will conduct military honors. Visitation will be 2-5 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Stombaugh died Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, IL, after along battle with heart disease. Memorials may be made to the family. Larry was born January 30, 1933 in Vandalia, IL, the son of John Rolland and Mary (Jackson) Stombaugh. He married Betty Willson, October 21, 1956 in Brownstown, IL. He and his twin brother, Harry owned and operated Luxury Cleaning Service, East Moline, IL, for over 30 years. He later worked for the Orion School District for nearly 18 years. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include: his wife of nearly 50 years, Betty Stombaugh, of Silvis, IL; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Danny Motsinger of Colona, IL; son, Brian Stombaugh of East Moline, IL; grandchildren, Michelle, Kristy, Eric, Ashley; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his: parents; sisters, Marybell and DeEtta; brothers, "Bud", Richard, and Harry.
