LaWanda E. Fischlein, 72, formerly of East Moline, IL, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.

Visitation will be 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm Monday, August 5th, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, August 6th, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Valley.

LaWanda was born February 21, 1952, in Moline, Illinois, a daughter of Arnold and Rachel "Pauline" Nordeen Lee. She graduated from U.T.H.S., Class of 1970. LaWanda was married to Glenn Fischlein for 25 years.

She was an avid reader, enjoyed crocheting and going to the movies. She was a gifted baker, and especially enjoyed making Christmas cookies for family and friends.

Surviving are her children, Glenda (Jose) Lopez, Queen Creek, AZ, and Michael Fischlein, East Moline, IL; grandchildren, Jasmyne Fischlein, Audrey Fischlein, Josefina Lopez, and Liliana Lopez; siblings, Russell (Margaret) Lee, East Moline, IL, Mary (Steve) Liefermen, Tennessee, Dave (Peggy) Lee, Cable, IL; sisters-in-law, Kathleen Lee, Tucson, AZ and Jennifer Lee, Florida; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family.

LaWanda was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Pauline; and brothers, Paul Lee and Brad Lee.
