Lee E. Salmonson , 88, of East Moline, IL, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis, IL.

Memorial services will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 10th, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, with visitation one hour prior to services. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Lee was born November 12, 1935, in East Moline, Illinois, a son of Fred and Elizabeth Gerhardt Salmonson. He graduated from UTHS, Class of 1953. Lee married Peggy S. Gooch Ogle on May 19, 2012, in Hampton, IL.

He was a U.S. Army veteran. Lee was a machinist for John Deere, Harvester Works, for 30 years.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, East Moline. Lee enjoyed traveling, wintering in Florida, and golfing.

Surviving are his wife, Peggy, of East Moline; stepchildren, David (Cindy) Ogle, Hampton, IL, and Susan (Chuck) Fiser, Davenport, IA; step grandchildren, Tyler (Makenzie) Cornett, East Moline, Alec Fiser and Andrew Fiser, both of Davenport; and step great-grandson, Myles Cornett; and many nieces and nephews.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Elizabeth; brothers, Paul, Fred, Harold, Bill, Don, Marvin, and Reuben; and a sister, Alice, to whom he was very close.
