Funeral services for Lela M. Pompa, 79, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00 AM Friday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery East Moline. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Ms. Pompa went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, February 17, 2009 in Coal Valley, IL. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or to Trinity Pathway Hospice. Lela Osborne was born May 26, 1929 in East Moline, the daughter of Robert and Verna (Newell) Osborne. She retired as Chief Deputy Recorder of Deeds for Rock Island County, after 20 years of service. She was a very giving person. She enjoyed music and had been an avid Illini fan. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she loved her cat, "Abbey." Survivors include: daughters and sons-in-law, Victoria Casillas of East Moline, Virginia Pompa of East Moline, Valerie Pompa of Colona, Jessica and Joe Cantrell of Silvis, IL, Antonia and Tony Johnston of Silvis; sons and daughters-in-law, John and Sue Pompa of Arnolds Park, IA, Frank and Maggie Pompa of Bristow, VA; 15 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brother, Stanton Osborne of Murphys, CA.
