Leland C. "Lee" Carroll, 92, formerly of Silvis, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Sunrise Senior Living Center, Crystal Lake. Funeral services are 12 Noon Wednesday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. Visitation is from 10 AM until 11:30 AM Wednesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd, East Moline. Memorials may be made to St. Anne Church. Lee was born on December 30, 1924 in Savannah, IL, the only child of Leland J. and Hazel (Kelly) Carroll. He graduated from UTHS. Lee served in the US Navy during WWII. He married Leona DePaepe on April 19, 1947 at St. Anne's. She died November 10, 2004. He retired as Post Master from the East Moline US Post Office. Survivors include his son, Charles, daughter-in-law Mary Carroll, of Algonquin, IL and grandson John Carroll, Davenport, Iowa.
