Lenore E. Chavez, 67, of East Moline passed away Friday March 27, 2009 at Illini Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be at 10:00AM Thursday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00pm on Wednesday, April 1 at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., where a rosary will be recited at 4:00PM and a time of sharing memories at 7:30PM. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the family. Lenore Montez was born on June 8, 1941 in Moline, IL, to Jesus and Carol (Valle) Montez. She graduated from Alleman High School. She married Marselino Chavez on April 23, 1966 in East Moline. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, foster mother and friend to all she knew and loved. Lenore had such a passion for taking care of children. She made every child that entered her life feel loved, wanted and special in their own way, even if that meant risking her own health to do so. Survivors include: her husband, Marselino; daughters, Angie (Randy), Rachel, Danielle; sons, Dominic, Bobby (Roma); grandchildren, Dylan, Riley, Ava, Isabella, Cody, Kyana, Kylie, Kaycie, and KyVan; her mother, Carol Montez; sisters, Marina Castel, Pam Montez, Monica McColley, Martha Haire, Louise Olvera (Perry Ramirez), Marcy Montez; brothers, Al Montez (Bahn), Louie Montez, Benny Montez (Margaret), Steve Montez (Carla), Jerry Montez (Norma); aunts, uncle, and many nieces, nephews and cousins who all had a special place in her heart.
