Funeral services for Leo J. Vyncke, 74, Silvis, IL, will be 10:00 AM Wednesday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline, IL. Burial will be in Western Township Cemetery, Orion, IL. Visitation is 4:00-7:00PM at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 4:00PM. Mr. Vyncke died Sunday, July 8, 2007 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, IL. Memorials may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church or Mary our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Orion, IL. Leo was born April 16, 1933 in East Moline, IL, the son of Richard and Genevieve (Schulte) Vyncke. He married Eileen (King) Adams January 14, 1978 in Rock Island, IL. She died April 6, 2002. He had worked for the City of East Moline for 25 years, retiring in 1989. He had been a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, East End Boulders Club, and the Polka Club of Iowa. He enjoyed dancing, roller-skating, gardening, traveling, and feeding the birds. Survivors include: stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Barbara Ortiz of Milan, IL, Kathleen and Jerry Raisbeck of Orion, Donna and Louie Johnson of Orion; 9 step-grandchildren; 7 step-great grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Luella and Neil Summers of Rock Island, Marlene and Melvyn Gavin of Hayward, WI; brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Marlowe Vyncke of East Moline, Bill and Ruth Vyncke of East Moline, Jim and Glenda Vyncke of Andover, IL, Wayne and Ruth Ann Vyncke of Hayward, WI, Joe and Nancy Vyncke of Silvis, IL; several nieces and nephews.
