Funeral services for Leonard K. Etzel, 77, of Hampton, IL, will be 10:00 AM Monday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation will be 2-5 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Etzel died Thursday, October 25, 2007 at Trinity Medical Center West Campus, Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church Building Fund where he was a member for many years. Leonard was born December 13, 1929 in Rock Island, IL, the son of William and Ruth (Dupew) Etzel. He married Kay Edwards May 22, 1954 at the Church of Peace, Rock Island. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from John Deere Harvester, Moline in 1987 after 38 years of service. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Kay Etzel of Hampton; sons and daughters-in-law, Kent and Lori Etzel of Barstow, IL, Scott and Sara Etzel of West St. Paul, MN, Todd and Robyn Etzel of Centennial, CO; daughter-in-law, Suzanne Etzel of Elk Grove Village, IL; grandchildren, Rebekah, Matthew, Nathan, Jacob, Riley, Conrad, Samantha, Brenne.
