Leonard H. Womack, 71, East Moline went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at Trinity Rock Island after a courageous battle with Leukemia. Funeral services are 10 AM Monday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 3-6PM Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Leonard was born December 5, 1938 in Moline, the son of Benjamin and Bertha VanDamme Womack. He married Clarice Butler and together they had 2 children. She died in June of 1964. He married Alice Brooks on March 5, 1966 in Moline and they had one son. Len retired in 1990 from Case IH, East Moline. He also owned and operated LH Womack Blacktop for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting playing cards and an occasional trip to the local casinos. He is survived by his wife of 44 years Alice, children and spouses; Glenn of San Antonio, TX, Glenda and Joe Beyers, Hampton, IL and Dwain and Sara Womack of Milan, thirteen grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, brother David (Melinda) Womack, East Moline, sister, Ginny (Ron) Howard, Rio, IL, several nieces and nephews and his dog Toby. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Joe, his first wife Clarice and an infant son, Baby Boy Womack. The family would like to thank Dr. Stuart Garneau and his staff, the Oncology Department at Trinity Rock Island and the Trinity Pathway Hospice, especially Elizabeth, Chad and Julie for their exceptional care that they all gave to Leonard during his several year battle.
