Services for LeRoy Rice, 47, East Moline, are 5PM Saturday at Van Hoe Funeral Home ltd., East Moline. Private family committal services will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is from 2PM until service time on Saturday. LeRoy died Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at his home. In lieu of flowers and gifts, a memorial fund has been established. He was born August 14, 1963 in Moline, the son of Charles and Hazel (Anderson) Rice. Lee graduated in 1981 from Lincoln High School in Des Moines, IA. He married Kathy Nelson Kaskadden on July 9, 1988 in Des Moines. Kathy died June 13, 2006. Lee was an ASE Certified Mechanic, having worked over 18 years at Green Chevrolet, East Moline and was recently working freelance. He was an avid Minnesota Viking fan and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He liked working on cars and was always helping others. Survivors include his children; Courtney Rice, East Moline, and Kevin (Lea) Kaskadden, Davenport, grandchildren; Jaliyah, Shelby and Peyton, his sister, Vanessa Rodriguez and brothers; Chuck (Barb) Rice and Richard (Sherry) Rice, all of Des Moines, his in-laws John and Jean Nelson, Moline, sister-in-law and brother-in-law; Stacey and Troy Larson, Moline, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, In addition to his wife Kathy, he is preceded in death by his parents.
