Funeral services for Leroy C. Schatteman. 83, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00AM Monday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be 2:00-5:00PM Sunday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 4:30. Mr. Schatteman died Thursday, August 12, 2010 at Clarrisa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA. Memorials may be made to St. Anne Catholic Church or to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. Leroy was born January 26, 1927 in East Moline, IL, the son of Fred and Minnie VanDeVelde Schatteman. He married Beverly Anderson June 3, 1950 at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. He retired from the former John Deere Foundry, East Moline, in 1982 after 39 years of service. He enjoyed golfing with his buddies. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Beverly Schatteman of East Moline; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and John O'Dell of Knoxville, TN; sons and daughter-in-law, Jeff Schatteman of San Diego, CA, Greg and Suzanne Schatteman of Geneseo, IL; grandchildren (spouse), Jamie (Effie) Schatteman, Sommer (Blaine) Witt, Eric (Brooke) O'Dell, Aaron O'Dell, and Stacy Schatteman; great grandchildren, Wrigley and Finley O'Dell, Kennedy Witt; sister-in-law, Pat Schatteman of Moline, IL.
