Leslie L. Benhart, 99, East Moline, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017 at his home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Saturday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial is in North Cemetery in Geneseo. Visitation is 4-7 Friday at Van Hoe Funeral Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 3:30 PM. Memorials may be made to St. Anne Church. Leslie was born July 3, 1917 in Lynxville, WI a son of Frank and Ida (Messling) Benhart. He married Lucille Titlbach on May 24 1944. She passed away on April 6, 1983. He later married Louise Darnall on October 6, 1995. She passed away on January 6, 2014. He retired in 1980 from John Deere Harvester Works, East Moline after 24 years as a machinist. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and was an avid Chicago Cubs Fan. He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in East Moline, and the Geneseo Moose Lodge #990. Leslie is survived by six children; Roger (Linda) Benhart, Colona, Michael (Sherry) Benhart, Rock Island, Jean (Vic) Laermans of East Moline, Eileen Benhart, Silvis, Jim (Jody) Benhart, Geneseo and Jerry Benhart, Geneseo, 17 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wives, grandson Adam, 3 sisters and 6 brothers.
