Lester L. Brandt, 75, Davenport, IA, died Tuesday August 31, 2010 at Genesis East, Davenport. A memorial visitation will be from 11AM until 12:30 PM, Friday, September 3, 2010 at Faith Baptist Church, Moline. Graveside services are 1PM Friday at Rock Island National Cemetery, with Military Honors. A memorial fund has been established. Lester was born March 16, 1935 in Waterloo, IA, the son of Minnow and Gayle (White) Brandt. He had driven truck for Amhof Trucking, Eagle Warehouse, and Ryder. He married Beverly Ann Wallace, she preceded him in death. He later married Diane Doss on September 17, 1995 in Davenport. Lester was very family oriented and loved his grandchildren dearly. He enjoyed fishing and travel. He served in the US Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his wife Diane, children and spouses; John and Nancy Brandt, Davenport, Bonny and Bill Jackson, Eldridge, IA and Richard and Jana Brandt, Minnesota, eleven grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, a sister Dorothy and brothers; Marlin, Leo, and Howard. He is preceded in death by his wife Beverly, a son Larry Lee, his parents and a brother LeRoy.
